Gaining planning consent
Planning permission is usually the first of the two main local authority approvals required. Our approach to gaining planning consent involves making time to discuss our proposals informally, face to face with the relevant planning authority. These meetings allow us to create a dialogue by describing our design rationale and listening to planning comments. Design proposals often need to deviate from planning guidelines for important reasons and we include a detailed design statement with each planning application to support our case. Despite working in challenging situations such as with listed buildings, conservation areas, sensitive historic or rural sites, we are very proud that we have always managed to secure planning permission for our clients.
