Saltire entrance spaces

studioKAP were commissioned by Glasgow Caledonian University, alongside two design agencies, to prepare an initial study for potential improvements to the entrance and circulation spaces of the Saltire Building, one of the key student resource buildings on their main campus. Interesting issues ensued as we sought to fashion positive space and sense of place within an existing contemporary building that relies very heavily on “raumplanung” or space planning and fit-out for its internal character and organisation.
