The owner of Dunderave Castle on the western shore of upper Loch Fyne wished to investigate the possibilities of rejuvenating an under-developed part of the estate, potentially to the benefit of the wider community. studioKAP were engaged to examine this at feasibility stage. Stemming from the owner’s fine contemporary art and sculpture collection, ideas of retreat and artists’ residencies were explored alongside the provision of additional staff accommodation. The refurbishment of historic outbuildings within the existing woodland setting would form the kernel of a private investment in the region of £1M.
