National Centre for Contemporary Art

Carlow, Eire

2002

Competition entry ·

studioKAP makes a point of entering design competitions on a fairly regular basis. Though the chances of success are not always high, teamwork is strengthened and architectural skills are honed, often in areas of work or building types where the practice is not directly involved. The submission for Carlow focussed on the development of internal and external spatial sequences to create a setting for the actual galleries which has the opportunity to be ‘owned’ by community and visitor alike.
