We were invited along with two other Scottish practices to design and construct a temporary pavillion for Forest Fest, essentially a trade fair for the Scottish Timber industry held in Lockerbie in 2003. Sutherland Hussey, Oliver Chapman and ourselves each made an independent study of what might be achieved, simply and quickly using local timber resources and sponsorship. A base frame 2.4 x 2.4m weighted by sawn logs set in a sand bed, a series of ship-lap boarded panels, some fixed and some opening, combine to enclose, store, display and shelter. A simple cubic form opening in pinwheel for to combine with additional units.
