Comerach House

Pollok Castle Estate

2008

Traditional appointment ·

The project consists of new accommodation to an existing (and already much-altered) 19th century coach house located within extensive grounds surrounded by mature landscape. Comerach House and the neighbouring stable/cottage block forms a composed gateway arrangement to the previous Pollok Castle House. The addition comprises a two storey slate-clad pavilion set back against the backdrop of existing trees and a one storey stone ‘bay’. With this arrangement, the existing building is ‘read’ with the two storey slate pavilion while the stone bay presents itself as an entrance element.
