A visit to Ghangzhou: Part 3

A walk in the old city of Ghangzhou

Life in every form is played out in the narrow streets and passageways in the dense, historic centre of Guangzhou city, where public realm really means private realm. Subway travel provides welcome air conditioning at the cost of chest-to-chest proximity. Overhanging trees, tall buildings and narrow streets provide welcome shade to the 36 degree, high humidity afternoon weather.

Whether it’s the grooming of a well-loved dog; the silent presence of the world’s youngest ventilation grill shop keeper or the relaxed sun bathing on the hot granite by a laidback cat, there is something to surprise and delight with each step.
