A visit to Peter Eisenman's Cultural Centre

Constructed Landscape

The Peter Eisenman-designed Cultural Centre overlooking Santiago de Campostela is an extraordinary composition of man-made landscapes which house monumental interiors.

Museums, library and performance spaces are located in six stone and glass-clad buildings forming a new piazza within a cultural campus.

Despite being intellectually linked to traditional and contemporary urban morphologies, there is nevertheless a lasting sense of being within a private institution, rather than a public forum when walking about. It remains to be seen whether public footfall and engagement will match its well-published cultural and social ambitions.
