A change in level and perspective

A change in level and perspective

Sometimes it is the garden, rather than the interior that inspires a building’s reconfiguration. Sometimes it is both. Spending time in the kitchen while overseeing a growing family play in the garden is not an uncommon activity for parents.

Our design to connect the kitchen and dining space in this Pollokshields house and create a directly accessible and clearly visible connection to the lower garden brings all these key family areas together in a seamless way. Playing, cooking, socialising, relaxing, even homeworking are all within easy reach by some carefully-considered architectural adjustments and the creation of this small extension.
