Whitchurch Gardens

This new house in North London is a potential model for replacement dwellings in an archetypical suburban setting as it reinterprets the rhythm and language of the existing street whilst establishing its own distinct character. It continues the local pattern of formal street-facing sitting room whilst also creating an informal kitchen/dining/sitting space to the rear, with direct access to the terrace and garden. The overall massing and brick and clay tile material palette lead the eye to the entrance door and the discreet 4 storey interior.  Perhaps one day it might also be the setting for its own 21st century sitcom?
